With a low of -4 degrees, Saturday’s Chiefs vs. Dolphins game was the fourth-coldest in NFL history.
Ten patients who attended the game at Arrowhead Stadium and were hospitalized due to weather-related issues were confirmed by the Kansas City Fire Department on various media sites.
Following the win, Travis Kelce of the Chiefs noted that the temperature was “shockingly chilly.”

According to a Kansas City Fire Department official who talked with USA Today, the cold during Saturday’s game led to 69 “patient interactions” and 10 hospitalizations.
Five more patients were admitted to the hospital for reasons unrelated to the weather, while seven patients were admitted for hypothermia and three for frostbite, according to the outlet.
With a wind chill of -27 degrees, the Chiefs PR stated that the game was “the 4th coldest kickoff temperature in NFL history” and “the 3rd coldest kickoff wind chill in NFL history.”
About half of the 69 calls the Kansas City Fire Department received at Arrowhead Stadium during the game were related to hypothermia, the department verified to Fox 4 KC.
