It’s all over social media’: Julian Alvarez addresses Barcelona transfer rumours
Julian Alvarez has acknowledged the persistent speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona, admitting the rumours are rampant online but insisting they are far removed from reality.
The former Manchester City striker, who joined Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2024, told reporters: “It’s all over social media. I think it’s more what’s being said online than what’s actually happening.”
Alvarez, a key figure in Diego Simeone’s attack, emphasised his commitment to the current campaign: “I’m very focused on this season, on what lies ahead with Atletico de Madrid. So, I try to tune it out and think about myself, about continuing to grow as a player, and about winning.”
The Argentine’s representative, Fernando Hidalgo, previously dismissed similar links to Liverpool after the summer window closed, stating to Eram News: “No official offers were received from Liverpool to sign Julian last season. And everything that has been said about this is incorrect
During the last summer, there were no offers either, because Atletico Madrid did not want to sell the player.”
