Arsenal have conceded four late goals since the start of November

Arsenal’s late-game conundrum continues, with four late goals conceded since November, raising concerns about their defensive solidity. The Gunners have struggled to kill off games, allowing opponents to claw back leads in the dying minutes. This issue isn’t new, as they’ve drawn 14 times in the Premier League last season, often due to late goals conceded.

Manager Mikel Arteta attributes the problem to Arsenal’s lack of attacking potency, rather than defensive frailties. The team has gone over 300 minutes without scoring a non-penalty goal, relying on own goals and penalties to find the back of the net. Arteta believes adding more layers to their attack, with signings like Viktor Gyökeres and Noni Madueke, will help address this issue.

Despite these setbacks, Arsenal remains top of the Premier League table with 39 points from 17 matches, showcasing their overall strength and resilience. However, the late-game goals conceded have sparked debate about their ability to close out games.
