    The Detroit Lions announced the death of a 25-year-old player from their previous season.

    A 25-year-old Detroit Lions player from the campaign has passed away, the organisation said on Thursday.During his seven Lions games last season, Jessie Lemonier recorded 15 tackles, 8 solo tackles, and 1.5 sacks. After joining the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020, he only played for Detroit for a single season.

    The team released a statement on Thursday, January 26, saying, “We are shocked and saddened to learn of the demise of former Detroit Lion Jessie Lemonier.” Jessie was a fantastic young man and an excellent teammate who left us way too soon. During this trying time, our prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends.

    Lemonier attended Liberty University after being born in Florida in 1997.
