The news was confirmed by the Tulsa World. A team spokesperson said, “We are aware of the matter, and it is being addressed internally.”
The news comes just prior to Saturday’s Bedlam game at Oklahoma State. Kickoff is 2:30 p.m.
Farooq was stopped by Norman Police at 9:14 p.m. near Main Street and University Avenue, according to a summary report. The wide receiver was allegedly driving a 2022 Dodge Charger erratically with an expired paper tag.
During the stop, it was noticed that Farooq had four outstanding municipal warrants. The summary says, “The suspect was identified and arrested without incident.”
Farooq has a team-high 449 receiving yards and ranks third with 26 receptions. He is also the Sooners’ top kickoff returner and averages 22.4 yards per attempt.
