Jonah Williams: “I hope that helps my value in some way.” Regarding His Future and Season at Right Tackle
Cincinnati —Jonah Williams, who just finished his first season as an NFL right tackle, is set to become a free agent. Williams was the Bengals’ first draft choice under Zac Taylor.
As the offseason gets closer, Williams is primarily focused on spending time with his family and his upcoming NFL home.
Williams stated on Monday, “We’re only a few hours after the previous game,” in reference to his future. I haven’t had much time to consider it, so. The ability to travel and spend more time with my family and daughter is what I’m truly thinking about right now. I’m not going to miss many of those going forward here in the next few months because it’s always difficult to miss bath time or anything like while we’re traveling. That’s sort of the top priority on my mind.”
With a 59.1 total PFF grade at the end of the season, the left tackle turned right tackle placed 82nd among all NFL offensive linemen.
He’s one of the players Cincinnati needs to cut go or add new players. Williams took pride in the way he approached and managed the position switch this season.
Williams added, “As you guys can tell by my replies, I’m a pretty small-picture guy.” “I find it difficult to consider the big picture. That seems like there are too many moving parts. I prefer to reduce things to tasks that I can complete each day. And this year, all I could do was turn up and play right tackle at a very good level. And I believe I did a decent job of it since that’s what I committed myself to. Though that wasn’t my goal going in, I hope it in some small way increases my value.
