Jalen Hurts Acknowledges the Severity of His Finger Damage
Due to a finger injury, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jordan Hurts missed the second half of the team’s game against the New York Giants on Sunday. Hurts is anticipated to be fit for the playoffs. But the damage was already done since Hurts had a dislocated finger that kept him from throwing for the whole week.
Hurts said he had not thrown a football between the Eagles’ practice on Thursday and their game on Sunday. The quarterback said that instead of initially trying to play through his finger injury, he should have stayed out of the game.
Hurts said, “Clearly, leaving that game and attempting to go back into that game maybe wasn’t the best option, not having much control over the things that I wanted to do,” as reported by ESPN’s Tim McManus. “But it will become evident eventually, and be assured, everything is proceeding as it should.”
The Philadelphia Eagles had their first practice of the week on Thursday before traveling to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers on Monday. Due to a finger injury, Philadelphia officially designated Hurts as limited in practice.
The Eagles are also injured since wide receiver A.J. Brown missed practice due to a knee injury in addition to Hurts. The team will benefit from having one more day off as they get ready for Monday night’s ESPN wild card game versus Tampa Bay at 8:15 p.m. ET.
