A Bengals player is accused of making severe threats against a lady.

The Cincinnati Police Department charged Joe Mixon, a standout running back for the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals, on Friday with aggravated threatening after he allegedly pointed a gun at a lady in January of last year.

“In order to preserve a fair and unbiased judicial procedure for the parties involved, no details of the investigation or evidence will be revealed outside of official court proceedings,” was the warning from the Police Department.

According to Cincinnati Police, the case was originally dropped on14 January of this year due to fresh evidence that was uncovered throughout the course of the investigation.

Mixon, 26, was accused of pointing a gun at a woman in Hamilton County, Ohio, Municipal Court. The player’s threats against the woman were noted in the court report.

“I should shoot you; you should be blown in the face. Part of the remark gleaned from the facts that particular occasion was, “The police can’t capture me.”

According to the lawsuit, the event occurred on January 21, one day before the Bengals defeated the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the American Football Conference (AFC).

    The accusation was first rejected.

The Hamilton County, Ohio Municipal Court’s presiding judge, Judge Curt Kissinger, noted in the record that the city attorney stated that further investigation was required before proceeding, leading to this new charge, even though the indictment was dismissed on February 2 at the court hearing that was held 24 hours later.

Mixon has a history of violence; in 2014, at the age of 18, he was charged with misdemeanor assault and suspended from the Oklahoma Sooners for one season after it was discovered that he had punched a female student in a Norman, Oklahoma, restaurant on camera. That time, the athlete finished behavioral counseling, 100 hours of community service, and a year of probation.

Joe Mixon spent six seasons playing for the Bengals, who selected him in the 2017 Draft and with whom he won the AFC title in 2021. He has also been selected for the Pro Bowl once. He has 40 touchdowns and 5,378 yards gained on the ground during his career.
