After the Lions defeated the Rams, Kelly Stafford had this to say to them: “Go get you one.”
In the wildcard round, the Lions defeated Matthew Stafford’s Rams.
Following the Detroit Lions’ valiant victory over Matthew Stafford and the Rams in the opening postseason game at Ford Field, Kelly Stafford had a message for them.
After being the Lions’ star player for 12 seasons, Matthew Stafford was moved to the Rams in 2021. Since then, he and his spouse have shown their gratitude to Detroit publicly.
However, the Lions and the Staffords were on different teams this week.
Detroit won their first NFC North championship and, for the first time in thirty years, was granted the privilege of hosting a postseason game. It’s none other than Stafford and his scorching Los Angeles Rams who are in their way.
This was undoubtedly difficult for Kelly and Matthew Stafford. Kelly Stafford made it known that she disagreed with the many Lions supporters who were against Stafford jerseys being worn at the stadium for this game.
Then, on Sunday night, a crowd that had previously applauded Stafford took to the field and booed him. He understands it’s not personal, but that still had to hurt a little.
The majority of Lions supporters have consistently backed Stafford, even supporting him to win a Super Bowl even though it meant giving up their own draft pick when he joined the Rams.
It follows that everyone seemed to still be friends on Monday after the storm passed.
“What a season, and for it to end at Ford Field,” Kelly Stafford commented on Instagram. “I am eagerly anticipating the upcoming Rams season.” Go grab one now, and he’ll be back in Detroit the following year.
