Michigan’s Allen Park (AP) Jameson Williams, a wide receiver with the Lions, is eager to start his season when Detroit plays the Carolina Panthers on Sunday after serving a four-game ban for gambling.
Williams anticipates playing, even though the coaches have not stated if he will be involved.
“I think I would. Following Tuesday’s padded session, Williams remarked, “I was suited up today.”
Following the NFL’s revision of its gambling policy last week, 22-year-old Williams was allowed to return to practice this week—two weeks earlier than anticipated. Williams was one of the three players who were reinstated by the league after serving a six-game suspension.

Lamar Jackson said, “I’m not frustrated, I’m angry,” following his team’s 2-4 playoff loss.
The Chiefs, led by Mahomes and Kelce, are one victory away from the NFL’s first Super Bowl repeat in 19 years.
“I was catching the entire time while I was staying in shape. Williams stated, “I was preparing myself by doing those things so that I’ll be ready when I return. “I suppose that took place. I am now prepared for it. I just need to fine-tune a few things, and I’ll be good to go.
During his ban, he was not permitted to communicate with the team; nonetheless, he used a JUGS machine at home to catch 100 balls per day. He exercised twice a day as well. He claimed that watching his team’s season opener in Kansas City from home was the worst day of his life.
Williams anticipates that getting back in sync with quarterback Jared Goff won’t take too long.
At camp, we had fun. Today was simply a short day. We did something after practice; we need whatever he feels is good,” Williams remarked. Thus, I don’t anticipate it taking very long. When we get underway, the work will be excellent.
Goff concurred.
It only serves to garner him reps. After being away for so long, all you need is repetitions to get back into the swing of things, feel the speed, run some plays, and join the rest of us on the field, Goff stated.
Williams was sidelined until his suspension began on August 17 after he suffered a hamstring injury during a drill. He claims that the hamstring is now fine. In August, he participated in one preseason game and hauled in two catches for 36 yards.
Coach Dan Campbell stated, “It’s all about perfecting all the little things, and we also know if he does play, he can’t play 60 plays.” We can’t treat him that way because that isn’t smart. We’ll see where it goes, and the main goal is to get better. Man, it’s no different than the rest of the team.
Campbell has very clear expectations.
“I’m not searching for explosions, touchdowns, or yards. Man, just be one of those dependable receivers in the room like the other guys. That’s all,” Campbell declared.
Williams, a 2022 first-round selection, only played in six games as a rookie because of an injury. His lone reception resulted in a 41-yard touchdown run. He also had one carry, a forty-yard run on a reverse.
Observations: CB Emmanuel Moseley (hamstring/knee) worked out on Tuesday and might play on Sunday for the first time this season. Campbell remarked, “He’s another guy we’d like to see if we can get him going this week.” On Tuesday, G. Halapoulivaati Vaitai (knee) and S. Kerby Joseph (hip) went back to training. Both did not participate in the first two games. Trainers worked with wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (toe) and wide receiver Jason Cabinda (knee) on the sidelines. DB Brian Branch did not work on his ankle. The NFL rescheduled Sunday, October 15,’s Lions vs. Tampa Bay game to start at 4:25 p.m. The original kickoff time was set for 1 p.m.
