Lions: Why Detroit winning the NFC North for the first time doesn’t surprise Dan Campbell
In Week 16 of the NFL, the Detroit Lions bravely defeated the Minnesota Vikings.With their thrilling 30–24 victory, the Lions won their first NFC North divisional championship. Head coach Dan Campbell expressed admiration for the Detroit team and said he thought they would succeed.

In a press conference held following practice, Dan Campbell talked about Detroit’s significant achievement:
“In the third year [of my term], Brad Holmes and I felt like we should be competing for the division… Campbell reportedly replied, “I’m not surprised with where we’re at at this moment,” according to Nick Baumgardner.
The head coach of the Lions believes that Detroit is playing excellent football. He does admit, though, that in order for the squad to have a chance at winning a Super Bowl, some surface cleaning must be done. Additionally, Campbell believes that Detroit’s success stems from the organization-wide team mentality that is present:
“We work together as a team. My squad is Brad and me. The team I work with is Sheila [Ford Ham]. and Chris Spielman. Rod Wood, a group. We are a team, coaches, and players. I believe the players understand and are aware that we are all involved in this.
