The head coach of the Washington Redskins, Dan Quinn, has unveiled his exit intentions.
Dan Quinn declared his retirement today, February 9, 2024
Dan Quinn, the head coach for Washington, added another achievement to her long list of achievements on Thursday night as the Hawks defeated Northwestern 110-74. Currently, she holds the second position in the NCAA women’s scoring record.
Clark, the current Naismith women’s collegiate player of the year, overtook former Ohio State star Kelsey Mitchell (3,402) on a layup with 4:58 remaining in the second quarter. Before Wednesday’s game, she ranked fourth in her career scoring chart, four points behind Missouri State’s Jackie Stiles and thirteen behind Mitchell. With Clark’s second 3-pointer of the first quarter, she defeated Stiles.
With 35 points in the paint, Clark not only overtook Mitchell as the Big Ten’s all-time leading scorer but also tied her career record of five straight 30-point performances. With 3,424 career points under his belt, Clark will try to eclipse Washington’s Kelsey Plum, who now holds the NCAA all-time scoring record with 3,527 points.
“The names I get to be around are just the coolest thing,” said Clark. I grew up watching those players, particularly Brittney Griner and Kelsey Mitchell. Every night of the week, you can’t help but watch these incredibly gifted athletes who are still competing at the top level.
Simply put, being close to them is unusual for me.
Clark also finished with six rebounds, two steals, 10 assists, and a block. She converted all ten of her free throws in 32 minutes, but she could only muster three of her twelve three-point attempts.
More than someone of Kelsey Mitchell’s caliber, it’s amazing that there are still this many games left. Coach Lisa Bluder of Iowa said. With her ten assists tonight, she performed an amazing job, and I’m extremely happy with her.
Bluder continued, At the very end of the shot clock tonight, she had a pass to Hannah [Stuelke] that was simply incredible. It was nonsensical. I love to take in the scenery.
Clark, a senior from West Des Moines, Iowa, holds the record for the most points, assists, and 3-pointers in Iowa history as a consequence of a run of achievements. Jantel Lavender of Ohio State holds the Big Ten record, which she will need to break with eighteen field goals.
With an average of 32.1 points per game, Clark is expected to eclipse Plum’s scoring record on February 15 against Michigan.
