Brian Snitker of the Atlanta Braves has a one-game suspension.
Brain Snitker, the head coach of the Atlanta Braves, was dismissed from the game on Tuesday and was fined for going back to the dugout area. He was also suspended for one game.
Tuesday’s home plate umpire, Chad Whitson, dismissed Kapler after he contested a dubious strike call in the fourth inning against the Tampa Bay Rays. It was Kapler’s seventh ejection of his career and his second this season.
Later, he went back to the dugout area at Oracle Park and engaged in chats with players and coaches while watching the game on a monitor in the batting cage. He remained dressed in his outfit.
I did, after all, break the spirit of the rule, correct? Friday, Kapler stated. I broke the spirit of the rule by hanging around the dugout area, which states that the manager must walk up the clubhouse and change into street clothes. This is a justified step at this point. I’ll be in the clubhouse watching the game. I’ll be in the office, making sure no temptation gets past the closed door.
The Braves won 4-0 on Friday in Atlanta while Kapler served his sentence. Pitching coach Andrew Bailey and bench coach Kai Correa took turns managing the game in the interim.
Kapler stated, I have to own up to my responsibility for it.” I met with the team, informed them of my rule violation, and apologized for requiring them to respond to any possible queries. Tonight, they must keep their attention on Atlanta. Tonight, we must keep our attention on Atlanta.
