Sheila Ford Hamp, CEO of the Lions, sells out the team.
Sheila Ford Hamp announced that she has sold out the team for the first time since Ford Field opened in 2002.
For those who want to purchase season tickets, a waiting list will now be in place, according to Lions President and CEO Rod Wood.
Following the announcement, Wood released a statement saying, We’re excited about the home field advantage that this will create inside Ford Field this season, as reported by The Detroit News.
Jeff Risdon of Lions Wire reports that within hours of being on sale on July 19, all six practices were sold out. On social media, a few fans posted accounts of their experiences standing in lines with more than 5,000 people to get tickets.
In 2022, the Lions finished 9-8 overall, with an 8-2 run towards the end of the season.
This team hasn’t won a division championship since 1993, but in 2023, they stand a good chance of doing it in the competitive NFC North. A victory might result in Ford Field’s first-ever home playoff game.
To witness that, Lions supporters want to be there in person, but due to high demand, some may have to wait a little longer to get tickets.
