Sterling Skye is not Patrick Mahomes’s child.
During a Football in America episode in October 2022, Patrick talked candidly about becoming a father. Regarding his children’s prospective sporting interests, the athlete stated that he intends to “keep out of the way.”
He clarified, “I think that’s the greatest thing for me.” “I will assist in teaching my daughter and son all the foundational subjects as well as anything they choose to learn. However, I also want to make it all about them.”
“That’s what my dad did growing up; that’s what my parents did,” Patrick went on. They didn’t put any pressure on me to do anything; they just let me be myself and go out and enjoy myself. I believe that’s the reason I’m in my current situation.”

When Patrick and the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in the Super Bowl of 2023, the quarterback’s most ardent supporters were present to support him. The Mahomes family is currently in Las Vegas to witness Patrick and the Chiefs play in the Super Bowl 2024, which will take place on February 11 against the 49ers from San Francisco.
With his family in Las Vegas ahead of the Super Bowl, Patrick told reporters, “Sterling’s loving it, being able to be on vacation and things like that.” It’s always wonderful to get to talk to them, so hopefully I’ll get to visit them during the week when I have some free time.
Brittany had revealed to individuals a month before that her kid “loves to watch her dad play football.”
She enjoys seeing her dad play football, and she can finally understand a little bit of what’s happening and where she is. She pays attention, keeps track of his activities, and can spot him from a mile away,” the pleased mother remarked.
After they’d been dating since high school, Patrick asked his longtime girlfriend to marry him on September 1, 2020, during the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl ring ceremony. They announced that they were expecting their first child later that month. Next to a picture of the pair clutching a sonogram, Brittany wrote, “Just taking a little detour to the wedding.”
On February 20, 2021, the couple celebrated the birth of their daughter in Kansas City, Missouri. A picture of baby Sterling gripping Patrick’s finger with the caption, “Sterling Skye Mahomes 👸🏼 2/20/21 6lbs 11oz,” was included in the announcement.
After several days, Brittany disclosed that they intended to wait to share pictures of Sterling’s face until they “thought the time was appropriate.” That moment arrived in June 2021, four months later, when Sterling formally launched her Instagram account.
In July 2021, Patrick told TODAY, “Obviously, initially, we wanted to keep stuff secret and not have her out there.” “This upcoming season, we want her to be at the games and not have to worry about hiding her the entire time. It almost became like a burden to try to hide her at all times when we do anything.” We simply want to offer her the most regular life that she possibly can so she may develop, have friends, learn, and become better and better every single day.”
For the newly formed family of three, 2021 and 2022 were filled with firsts: Sterling experienced her first Christmas, New Year’s, birthday, Father’s Day, time on the football field, and commercial. Her father was overjoyed to see Sterling in an Oakley commercial with him. “Today was a memorable day. Patrick added, “We received Ster-Ster’s first commercial” at the time. “She is going to be the family’s true star.”

Nonetheless, Patrick and Brittany’s marriage on March 12, 2022, was arguably the most memorable event for the family. Patrick said to the public in July 2021 that he hoped Sterling would be the flower girl at their wedding; Brittany later verified this in 2022. Brittany posted on Instagram, “Having your daughter in your wedding just hits different🥺💕.” In a small blue automobile, Sterling scooted down the aisle.
Patrick can’t wait to see his little girl grow up and face all the new obstacles that will inevitably come with it. Patrick said, “I will try my best,” in response to a question about whether he would be willing to style Sterling’s hair when she gets older. Though I’m not the greatest at it, I’ve tried working with Brittany’s hair in the past, and I’ll do everything in my power as a father—and a girl dad—to learn how to do at least a few things so that, should the need arise in the future, I’ll be prepared with a few tips.”
In October 2022, Brittany uploaded a cute picture of her daughter walking with a small Louis Vuitton purse on her arm, demonstrating Sterling’s already-established fashion sense. The young girl is wearing a white t-shirt, black leggings, and white sneakers, with her purse in the picture.
The young child appears to be modeling her mother’s style when it comes to game-day attire. She and Brittany dressed identically as mothers and daughters for the 2022 football season, with black shirts and red slacks with the word “Mahomes” emblazoned in white. Sterling was also seen in her “15” jean jacket, which she launched earlier in the season. The caption said, “Game Days with my girl, Chiefskingdom,” as posted by Brittany.
About her daughter’s experience at Patrick’s NFL games in January 2024, Brittany said, “She absolutely enjoys walking down to the field and getting to see him before the game.” “Anytime I get to take kids to a game and they get to watch their dad play football, I think it’s a very precious experience.”
The Mahomes family threw a candy-themed party to commemorate Sterling’s second birthday on February 19, 2023.The birthday girl and her guests had a great time at “Sterling’s Two Sweet” party, which included a ball pit and a bounce house.
