Tom Brady made his exit known.
Tom Brady, a player with the Patriots, announced his retirement earlier today.
Several people were surprised that Bill Belichick, the former star quarterback, had not been hired as head coach of the NFL, not even Tom Brady.
“I’m not aware of the requirements for selecting coaches. On his “Let’s Go!” podcast this week, Brady stated, “I’ve never been a part of it.” “Yeah, it surprises me that the best coach in history is unemployed. However, a lot of things in the NFL surprise me.”
Belichick had just two interviews this cycle, both with the Atlanta Falcons, who chose to select Raheem Morris for the position after he amicably parted company with the New England Patriots last month following 24 seasons and six Super Bowl titles.
Last week, Mike Macdonald and Dan Quinn, respectively, were hired by the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders to fill the final two head coaching positions.
It will be Belichick’s first season without coaching in the NFL since 1975 if he declines an offer to become an assistant coach.
Based on his experience with free agency after leaving the Patriots after 20 seasons in 2020, Brady said he can somewhat relate to Belichick not being able to find employment.
Brady stated on his podcast, “There were a number of teams that didn’t want me when I was a free agent.”
Brady finally signed with the Buccaneers, where he played for two more seasons until retiring last year. In his first season with Tampa Bay, Brady won his sixth Super Bowl.
