Romeo Crennel, the former head coach of the Chiefs, says he will return in 2024.
A day after his Chiefs upset the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, Reid responded to a question regarding the idea of retiring on top, saying, “Honestly, I haven’t even thought about it, but I get asked it.” “I haven’t really given it much thought—I’m still kind of in shock over the game and what happened there. But I’m always getting asked, “Why didn’t Pete Carroll and (Bill) Belichick) retire?” Put those queries to those elderly guys.
But because I’m getting older, I suppose people will ask me that. I haven’t really been there, either. I haven’t given it much thought.
In the lead-up to Super Bowl LVIII, there was a lot of talk about the 65-year-old coach’s potential retirement. Reid fueled those rumors by declaring after the Chiefs’ overtime victory against the 49ers, “I haven’t had time to think about it.”But Chiefs owner and CEO Clark Hunt stated on Sunday night that Reid’s comeback was always expected.
