Brady declares his desire to retire.
Patriot quarterback Tom Brady desires to step down from the
With his most recent Super Bowl victory, Patrick Mahomes surpasses Peyton Manning. Is Tom Brady up next?
Only this quarterback, according to Skip Bayless, can end Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ hegemony.Being one of only five starting quarterbacks to win three Super Bowls, Patrick Mahomes is now unwavering in his quest to become the best quarterback in NFL history. At Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers’ defense got off to a great start, but in the end, it was unable to stop Mahomes, who was voted MVP of Super Bowl LVIII after throwing for 333 yards and two touchdowns.
- After defeating the 49ers 25–22, the Kansas City Chiefs won their third championship under coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. This puts them halfway to matching the six Super Bowl titles earned by the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick. As the Kansas City quarterback continues to succeed, comparisons between him and Brady are becoming more and more appropriate; nevertheless, Mahomes knows he still has a few years left to go before surpassing the GOAT.
Mahomes is unambiguous: Brady is the best quarterback.
When Mahomes showed up on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday afternoon, he was questioned about the parallels between Brady and the quarterback that keep coming up in conversations among sports fans. Brady, whom the majority of fans still regard as the greatest quarterback in history, was treated with deference by the two-time NFL MVP.
“If you look at the longevity and the continuous greatness that he had every single year, he is the greatest of all time, and I like being compared to him, but I still have so much to go in my career,” Mahomes remarked.
While Mahomes moved up to past Brady’s colleague Peyton Manning on the list of postseason victories on Sunday, Brady is still quite a ways away from Mahomes. The seven-time Super Bowl champion holds the record with 35 playoff victories in NFL history. In a matchup with Mahomes’ Chiefs, Brady earned his eighth and last Super Bowl ring with a 31-9 blowout in Super Bowl LV to close out the 2020 campaign.
On McAfee’s show, Mahomes stated, “All I can do is just try to continue to be the best version of myself every single day that I have and have no regrets.” “To be the greatest Tom Brady he could be was, in fact, what I heard Tom Brady say a long time ago. Everything else just sort of occurs. It kind of comes with everything else if you keep working hard and surround yourself with amazing colleagues.”
