After a horrific accident, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was able to
Ryan Mallett, a former quarterback for the Patriots, drowned on Tuesday in Florida.
Mallett, 35, was taken from a beach to a nearby hospital, where it was announced that he had passed away.
The Patriots sent their sympathies to Mallett’s family and former colleagues in a statement on Tuesday.
The statement said, “The sudden and unexpected passing of former quarterback Ryan Mallett greatly saddens the New England Patriots.” “The Mallett family, his former teammates, and everyone else grieving his loss are in our thoughts and prayers.”
In a statement of his own, Patriots coach Bill Belichick said, “I am very saddened by Ryan’s unfortunate passing.” My prayers and condolences are with his family and all the individuals whose lives he impacted.
Mallett made 21 career-game appearances in the NFL, starting eight of them. He threw for 1,835 yards, nine touchdowns, and ten interceptions. He spent 1.5 seasons as a member of the Texans and 2.5 seasons as a player for Baltimore before being traded halfway through the 2015 season. 2017 marked Mallett’s last season in the NFL.
“He’s obviously a football guy,” Belichick remarked of his new quarterback shortly after picking Mallett. Talking to him is a terrific experience. He loves football a lot. There’s no wearing him down. He’ll be there to chat about it for as long as you want to. He is prepared to read, watch the next movie, discuss a fresh method, or do anything else for however many hours it takes.
In his native state of Arkansas, the head football coach at White Hall High School was about to begin his second season in that role.
