Patrick Mahomes, of the Kansas City Chiefs, has his eye on one wide receiver draft prospect.
During this weekend’s NFL Combine, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was impressed by one wide receiver.. This summer, the Chiefs are anticipated to bolster their wide receiver corps via free agency or the draft.
In 2024, the Chiefs in Kansas City will need better wide receivers.
The Chiefs had an issue at wide receiver last season—they led the league in passes dropped. A few of their wide receivers from the previous year may not be wearing the red-and-white uniform the following year.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling was cut by the Chiefs last week because of cap space concerns.. Kadarius Toney had a difficult 2023 season, making a lot of errors on the field and stirring up commotion off it. The team could let him go.
During the combine, one of the best pass-catching prospects in the 2024 draft put on an amazing display. Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy broke the record for the quickest 40-yard dash time, according to GH Media:
With a 40-yard sprint time of 4.21 seconds, former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy officially shattered the NFL combine record.
Xavier Worthy just missed out on setting the previous record for the 40-yard dash, which was held by John Ross, an early first-round selection of the Cincinnati Bengals.. It took 4.22 seconds. Worthy broke the record with the official time, but he was first recorded at 4.22 illegally.
Mahomes seems to be implying that Worthy and his quickness are important to him. The transfer of Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins has left the Chiefs offense lacking an explosive ingredient.
Without Hill, the Chiefs have won two Super Bowls, but Mahomes hasn’t always had it easy. This season, Mahomes was obviously irritated with the offense’s shortcomings in the regular season. By the way, the Chiefs concluded the regular season as the third seed in the AFC.
