He’s expected to be back in time for training camp should he sign with a new team. Buffalo will clear $4.6 million in cap space, also per Schefter.
“Bills plan to release RB/RS Nyheim Hines this week, per source,” Schefter tweeted. “Hines most likely will be back for training camp from the ACL injury that he suffered last summer, per source.”
The highlight of Hines’ time in Buffalo and arguably the most memorable moment so far in his NFL career came during a Week 18 win over the New England Patriots to close out the 2022 regular season. In what marked the first game back for the Bills after the Damar Hamlin incident, Hines took back the opening kickoff for a touchdown before doing it a second time in the third quarter as Buffalo won 35-23.
In nine career games with the Bills, Hines posted six carries for -3 yards but had five catches for 53 yards and a touchdown. He totaled 19 kickoff returns for 554 yards and the aforementioned touchdowns.
