Bulldogs GM unveils 2 prodigy players into the team for the Melbourne clash.
The Bulldogs kick off season 2024 with a Round 1 battle against Melbourne on Sunday.
The Western Bulldogs have announced the inclusion of two new players for their Sunday MCG matchup against Melbourne.
Pick 6 in the Ryley Sanders 2023 Draft and Pick 39 in the 2022 Draft For the first time, Harvey Gallagher will wear red, blue, and white.
Working with players like Tom Liberatore and Marcus Bontempelli in the midfield, Sanders is highly regarded for his professionalism and ready-made stature.
The young artist, who is from North Launceston, is “stoked” about making his stage debut so early in the work, but he also understands that the work is far from over.
“I’m thrilled with how welcoming all of the players and coaches have been to me; it feels great.” Sanders told Bulldogs Media, “I’m happy that’s shown in the pre-season, and Bevo and the coaches have picked me. I’ve just felt so comfortable, and they’ve let me do the things that got me drafted.”
“It’s an incredible chance to make your debut at any point, but it will be especially amazing in round one against a strong Melbourne team in front of a large crowd at the MCG.”

Regarding Gallagher, his breakthrough comes from tenacity and diligence after a 2023 season marred by injuries.
The former Bendigo Pioneers captain, who is renowned for his work ethic and quickness, will be a key member of the Dogs’ front line, putting pressure on the Demon defense.
“After a strong preseason, it’s been good to get the runs on the board, but it’s been a bit of an interrupted first year,” Gallagher stated.
“I’ve never played at the ‘G, so that will be really nice as well. It’s pretty cool making my debut there.”
On Sunday, Sanders and Gallagher will go out onto the MCG alongside other newcomers from the Western Bulldogs.
Bulldogs players Lachlan Bramble, James Harmes, and Nick Coffield have also been named for the first time.
After slipping down the ladder at their respective clubs, Coffield (St Kilda) and Harmes (Melbourne) looked for a fresh start, while Bramble was delisted by Hawthorn and signed by the Western Bulldogs during the preseason supplemental selection period (SSP).
