Good News: 4-star linebacker commits to Alabama in class of 2025.
Johnson is ranked as the No. 3 linebacker in the class of 2025 according to the 247 composite, which places him as the No. 28 overall player in the class. He started his high school career as a defensive back before transitioning to linebacker.
“Plays the ball extremely well in the air, making use of his 80-inch wingspan and superb athleticism to attack the ball at the highest point,” 247Sports national analyst Hudson Standish wrote in his evaluation of Johnson. “Made strides as a junior with his feet and recognition on the defensive side of the ball, manifesting in a career-high 103 tackles. Shows urgency flowing both downhill and sideline-to-sideline to attack ball carriers. A true thumper who has shown a repeated ability to dislodge the football due to the violent nature of his impact at full speed.”
Johnson stands 6-foot-3 and weighs in at 200 pounds. He chose the Crimson Tide over other offers, including Florida State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Florida and Central Florida.
He became the sixth commitment for UA in the class of 2025. The group is currently ranked 10th nationally according to the 247 composite.
