With his ascent to the top of the PIF ATP Rankings, Murray has achieved the highest peak in the sport. 46 tour-level championships, including three major trophies and the 2016 Nitto ATP Finals gold, have been won by him. That Alcaraz has gained such admiration from the 36-year-old says volumes.
It’s excellent. I play for my team and for myself, as I have stated numerous times. However, I also appreciate it when others enjoy watching my games and battles. It’s quite great, in my opinion,” remarked Alcaraz. For me, it would be even more satisfying if a legend like Andy expressed how much he loved watching my matches. To be honest, I find it absurd.
“I believe that throughout his career, he has witnessed a great deal of tennis—many matches, many players. It’s amazing to see these words from him. I make an effort to accomplish that in every game.
Murray has always had a fondness for Alcaraz’s game. From the start, the Scot believed the Spaniard had a lot of potential.
Murray projected in 2021 that Alcaraz might become the world’s top player at some point. That turned out to be prescient.
“Among the ones who are currently there, I would anticipate Medvedev to arrive first. At the time, Murray remarked, “I think he’s got a decent chance, but maybe he will need to be a little bit more consistent on the clay to get there. “From the younger generation, I believe [Carlos] Alcaraz is excellent. I believe he has a strong chance of succeeding.
In the Miami draw, Murray and Alcaraz are both still alive. Until the final, they are unable to meet.
