Police are reportedly searching for Chiefs’ patrick mahomes in the wake of a suspected hit-and-run incident.
Rashee Rice of the Kansas City Chiefs is a wide receiver, and Dallas police are searching for him as part of an ongoing investigation into a probable hit-and-run incident on Saturday, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Kristin Lowman, a Dallas Police Department spokeswoman, provided a summary of the event to USA TODAY Sports. According to the summary, at around 6:25 p.m. local time, a multi-vehicle incident occurred on the North Central Expressway in north Dallas. Before the drivers lost control and the Lamborghini went off the shoulder and into the center median wall, authorities found that the two drivers—one in a Lamborghini and the other in a Corvette—”were speeding in the far-left lane.” Four more cars were involved in a “chain reaction crash” as a result of this.
According to the police report, “the occupants of the Lamborghini and the Corvette all rushed from the scene without pausing to determine if anyone required medical care or to provide their identification.”
Two drivers were treated on the spot for minor injuries, according to the police, while two passengers from a second car were taken to a hospital for the same treatment.
Furthermore, “both the investigation and the suspects’ identification are underway,” according to the police.
All the latest details regarding the Chiefs, including injuries, schedule, roster, statistics, and more.
Rice, age 23, is identified as the suspected driver of the Corvette in a police call record that the Morning News was able to obtain.
As of Sunday at 12:00 ET, Rice was not on the Dallas County jail roster.
Despite being from a suburb west of Dallas, North Richland Hills, Rice was born in Philadelphia. Rice played NCAA football at Southern Methodist University and Richland High School, both of which are located about a mile away from the collision site.
Rice made his rookie debut with Kansas City in 2023. With 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns, he cemented his status as a vital offensive piece for the Chiefs as they advanced to the Super Bowl. Rice led the team in receiving touchdowns and was the only tight end with more receptions and yards throughout the regular season than Travis Kelce.
