JOSH REYNOLDS, AN EXCEPTIONAL WR, BIDS HIS TEAM MATES AND DETROIT LION FANS A PARTING FAREWELL.
Former Lions WR Josh Reynolds had a classy message for Detroit fans.
In his Instagram post, Reynolds conveyed his appreciation to Lions fans for their unwavering support throughout his tenure, describing it as an “unreal experience.” He acknowledged the fond memories and encouragement he received during his time with the team.
Reynolds initially joined the Lions midway through the 2022 season as a waiver claim, reuniting with quarterback Jared Goff. His arrival significantly bolstered the Lions’ receiving corps, as he quickly showcased chemistry with Goff on the field. Over the course of 38 games with the Lions, Reynolds recorded 97 receptions for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Although the Lions expressed interest in retaining Reynolds for another season, he ultimately decided to sign a two-year, $9 million deal with the Broncos. Despite the departure, both Lions head coach Dan Campbell and general manager Brad Holmes had emphasized Reynolds’ importance to their offseason plans just a week prior.
In his farewell message, Reynolds addressed a rumor regarding his departure from Detroit, denying claims that fan backlash influenced his decision not to re-sign with the Lions. He clarified that he still holds the city and its fans in high regard, expressing gratitude for the support and memories created during his time with the team.
