Linebacker for the Las Vegas Raiders Maxx Crosby has come a long way since he was selected in 2019. On the first day of NFL voluntary training, Crosby took a moment to think about his future.
seasoned defensive end for the Raiders in Las Vegas This season, Maxx Crosby will participate in six games in the National Football League. After being drafted, he became the face of the Raiders organization. Crosby’s time in the league is rapidly coming to an end.
Crosby said to reporters on Monday, “I mean, it is wild.” Setting things in perspective is helpful. I find it strange that my first year was twenty years ago—or even two days ago. Even though I can vividly remember being in the Coliseum and back in Oakland as if it were yesterday, I feel like I experienced that in a past life.I’m only here for the day, but life is busy and things are constantly changing. Even though I don’t have much time to reflect on the past, I can tell that year six is quickly approaching by taking a quick look at it. It feels like I’m interviewing these people. A few days ago, I got a tape of one of my interviews; I didn’t have any tattoos, had bleached hair, nor a beard, and looked utterly insane. We’ve gone a long way, holy [crap], I say.
After the Raiders selected Crosby in the fourth round of the draft, he went on to become one of the NFL’s top defensive ends. He has more than 300 tackles and more than 50 sacks in his time with the Raiders.
When his career comes to an end, the accomplished defensive lineman will have a great chance of being inducted into the Hall of Fame after a few more winning seasons. However, winning more games for the Raiders and being the best teammate he can be are Crosby’s top priorities.
It’s been a blessing, says Crosby. Although it has been an extremely challenging journey, I think that ultimately, what matters most for our institution is winning. I want to constantly be the best leader and teammate I can be, therefore I put everything I have into this. I find special meaning in being a Raider.
“I genuinely get along with everyone, even the owner and the janitor. My daily visitation is here for a cause. It’s like a family. Restarting things is exciting since not many teams operate as well as ours. All we have to do is turn that into a win.
The NFL Draft is slated to take place in Detroit, Michigan, on April 25–27, 2024. At the moment, the Las Vegas Raiders own the 13th overall pick.
