Urgency: With the departure of former Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady…
After losing to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card game and announcing his retirement from sports a few weeks later, Tom Brady played his final season in the NFL in 2022 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
But it appears that Brady is unstoppable.
During a recent conversation with Brady for the DeepCut podcast, founder VicBlends directly asked Brady if he would be willing to return to the NFL in an emergency later in the season. Brady also provided what may have been one of his most direct responses to date to the question, despite his history of avoiding it.
“I have nothing against it. Brady stated on the program, “I’m not sure whether they’re going to allow me become an NFL franchise owner. “I’ll always be in good physical condition and have the ability to toss the ball. To come in briefly, much as when [Michael Jordan] returned? I’m not against that, but I’m not sure if they’d let me.”
After the 2021 season, Brady first declared his retirement, but he subsequently changed his mind and decided to play again with Tampa Bay in the offseason of 2022. Some fans have therefore always been wary of Brady’s second retirement, and with this response, Brady isn’t exactly putting an end to rumors.
That being said, if his attempt to acquire an ownership stake with them is successful, he will be unable to play for any team. He would officially be done playing if he were to win the bid because the NFL recently implemented a rule prohibiting players from owning shares in an NFL team.
Nevertheless, it hasn’t gone through yet, and if it doesn’t work, maybe the legendary former Buccaneers player may get some calls after all.
