TRAGIC NEWS: Texas Rangers manager Bruce Douglas Bochy announced his retirement because to…
The article states when Jordan Montgomery is expected to sign.
With the short amount of time remaining, Jordan Montgomery could ink a contract before Opening Day.
Jim Bowden of MLB Network gave an update on the situation involving free agent left-hander Montgomery during a Sunday radio interview on SiriusXM Radio. He said Montgomery is expected to sign a deal this week.
“There is a market for Montgomery,” said Bowden. “He’s probably going to sign this coming week.” It’s becoming more and more ruthless.
Furthermore, Bowden mentioned that Montgomery is presently receiving two “long-term offers,” but he did not specify which teams were extending them.
The 31-year-old Montgomery finished 10-11 with a 3.20 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in the previous campaign. He has continued to wait for a deal as other holdouts Blake Snell, JD Martinez, Cody Bellinger, and Matt Chapman all signed shorter-term contracts. He was a part of the World Series-winning Texas Rangers team.
Montgomery appears to be able to choose from a number of long-term offers, suggesting that his prolonged wait will be worthwhile.
It’s also simple to guess which teams might be involved, since we recently reported that Montgomery was once again in talks with at least one major club.
