Niners Nation quarterback Brock Purdy has announced his departure due to
California Less than 48 hours after the 49ers’ Monday night loss to the Minnesota Vikings, quarterback Brock Purdy was abruptly and significantly added to the team’s injury report.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan announced on Wednesday afternoon that Purdy is in the NFL’s concussion protocol after the player played the full Monday night game. Sam Darnold, the backup quarterback, will start at quarterback during practice until Purdy recovers. Purdy looked fine during Monday’s game, but he began having issues on Tuesday when traveling back to the Bay Area. He was consequently added to the protocol.
“He began experiencing troubles on the plane,” Shanahan said. “It was eventually found out after we got here.
