Breaking: A terrific teammate, the 27-year-old Gaints defensive lineman passed away suddenly from cancer.
Within NFL history, the New York Giants are among the most illustrious and prosperous teams. One of the few teams that can honestly claim to have been in the NFL from the start, there is undoubtedly a vast pool of players to consider when compiling a top 50 list of all time.
You’ll notice that the top players on the list are all defensive players; the Giants have a history of having excellent defensive players, and it’s obvious who the team’s top player is.
Who, though, steps in at 2–50? Let’s examine this.Despite spending just two seasons with the Giants, Al Blozis is included on this list due to his exceptional play during that time and the little duration of his tenure.
You know, it used to be normal for athletes to halt or postpone their careers in order to serve their nation; Blozis was one such player during World War II.
His life was taken in the service of our nation, yet he could have returned from the war with a tremendous career after making the Pro Bowl in just his second season as an offensive lineman with the Giants.
Although it’s my list and perhaps someone else should have made it, I respect that and felt obligated to share his tale.
