On a Sunday morning interview on SiriusXM morning, MLB Network’s Jim Bowden provided an update on the situation surrounding free agent left-hander Montgomery. Montgomery is anticipated to sign a contract this week, he added.
Montgomery has a market, according to Bowden. “He will most likely sign this coming week.” It’s getting progressively more vicious.
Two “long-term offers” are now being made to Montgomery, according to Bowden; however, he did not name the teams submitting the offers.
In the previous season, the 31-year-old Montgomery ended 10-11 with a 3.20 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.
