Portsmouth FC has suffered a significant blow ahead of their match against Leicester City, as star player Josh Murphy is set to miss the game due to a persistent ankle injury. Manager John Mousinho confirmed that Murphy will likely miss the next two games, including the Leicester City match, to ensure a full recovery.

Murphy, who joined Portsmouth last season, has been instrumental in the team’s success, scoring seven goals and providing 14 assists in his best-ever campaign. However, injuries have limited his appearances this season, and his absence will be deeply felt against Leicester City.

Mousinho emphasized the need for caution, stating, “We’ve been very, very cautious, and that will be the case for next week or so. It will most likely be Stoke for him rather than Leicester or Coventry.” Portsmouth will look to regroup and find a way to overcome Murphy’s absence, but Leicester City will undoubtedly capitalize on the opportunity ¹.
