Following the Sydney Roosters’ move to sign fellow second-row player David Fifita, Angus Crichton has made a bold debut.
The Roosters defeated Penrith and the Dragons in a bidding war to sign Fifita to a four-year, $3.3 million contract.

Fifita and Crichton both prefer to play on the left edge, and the current Rooster, who just scored two tries in the Warriors victory on Sunday, claimed no one at the club had brought up the issue with him.
The 28-year-old acknowledges that it has caused him to wonder what the club’s future goals are.
He replied, “It certainly make you wonder where their head is at.” It’s interesting that nobody has spoken to me.
Naturally, I find it exciting to take on; all I can do is play smart football and keep raising my hand to be on the left.
“I think it’s good to have alternatives and figure out where I’ll be if I just keep playing excellent soccer.”
Crichton’s contract expires at the conclusion of this season. He was demoted to reserve grade earlier in the season but has since surged into Origin contention during the last month.
He is open to playing in either football code and has previously been linked to a switch to rugby union.
Coach Trent Robinson has made it clear that Crichton will still be welcome until 2025 and beyond, but the Blues and Kangaroos representative has no intention of taking a backseat.
