The New York Yankees just hired Brian Cashman as their new coach due to…
Executive Brian Cashman of the New York Yankees accomplished a first on Sunday, but it’s amazing to believe he still hasn’t done other things since joining the team as general manager and senior vice president in 1998.
In his first midseason move since joining the Yankees, Cashman made a change. After the team’s defeat to the Chicago Cubs, the team declared that hitting coach Dillon Lawson had been relieved of his responsibilities.
In a statement, Cashman stated, “It has been well documented that I have been reticent in the past to make changes to our coaching staff in the middle of a season.” “I firmly believe that both achievements and setbacks are the result of teamwork. But in the end, I believed that something had to happen and that having a fresh perspective on managing our hitting operations would offer us the best opportunity to play closer to our potential as we proceeded into the second half of the season.

“Dillon has worked so hard, and I want to thank him for it. He will have a lengthy and successful baseball career because of his sharp baseball mentality.”
Lawson was appointed hitting coach before the 2022 season began. Aaron Judge broke the American League home run record that year with his stunning season of 62 home runs.
Still, New York’s batting average of.231 is only better than that of the Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics, ranking them 28th in the majors. The Yankees are fighting for second and third place in the American League East, as the Tigers and Athletics are also below 500.
