SAD NEWS: Patrick Mahomes chose to retire because of…
Ever since his contentious commencement speech at Benedictine College, Kansas City Chiefs player Harrison Butker has become one of the most loathed sportsmen in the NFL and online.
During his talk, Butker called the LGBTQ+ community a “deadly sin” and reminded the graduating women that their main responsibility was to be “homemakers.”
Fans have discovered an old video of quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs discussing Butker and their chilly relationship.
Mahomes disclosed on the Pat McAfee Show in February, following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl triumph, that he doesn’t communicate with teammate Harrison Butker.
To be honest, Harrison and I don’t actually communicate much at all during the year. Mahomes remarked, “I just let him do his thing.” “But if I can just get over that forty, man, I know he’s going to put it through there.” You might have noted that I gave up under duress because I knew Harrison would make the play throughout the game.
On the Pat McAfee Show, Mahomes reiterated that he doesn’t “say one thing to him.”
Mahomes responded, “Only before the season and after the season.”
Regarding Butker’s contentious action, the Chiefs have not responded. An online movement to remove Butker off the team has been launched. As of this writing, the petition has amassed over 80,000 signatures.
With approximately 95% of his field goals made, Butker is among the league’s greatest kickers. Not only that, but he broke the record for the longest field goal ever accomplished in Super Bowl history.
