EMERGENCY: Bronco State Football Head Coach Spencer Danielson has signed his resignation papers. Because of…
In 2024, Boise State will welcome nine new transfer players to its roster: four from junior colleges and five from other D-I universities. All those factors went toward making the Bronco class the best-rated in Mountain West history and the best-rated class in Boise State history.
Can each of those players contribute right away as Broncos head coach Spencer Danielson begins his first full season in charge? We believe that these five are the most probable contenders to succeed.Cal – Jeremiah Earby (DB)
Earby was named to the College Football Network’s All-America second team in 2022. In his two seasons at Cal, he totaled 62 tackles; however, in 2023, his playing time drastically decreased. With the Golden Bears, the East Palo Alto native intercepted two passes, recovered a fumble, and covered 19 passes. Even after this current season, with two seasons of eligibility left, Earby might play a significant role in Danielson’s defense.
Ball State’s Tavion Woodard (DL)
Woodard totaled 83 tackles, 17 of which were for a loss, in 42 games played for Ball State. And he had eleven sacks. In 2024, Boise may have the top pass rush in the Mountain West if they line him up opposite the incredibly athletic Ahmed Hassanein on the defensive end.
Cam Camper (Indian Reserve)
The Broncos could use another deep threat in light of Eric McAlister’s departure. An ex-Hoosier could cover that position. At Indiana, the graduate student averaged just less than five catches per game and 13.5 yards per catch. Based, at least, on Boise’s spring roster, he will be one of two graduate student receivers.
Chris Marshall (wide receiver, Texas A&M/Kilgore JC)
Marshall had a composite score of 0.9885 from 247Sports and was a five-star recruit right out of high school. He played the 2022 season for Texas A&M, where he signed his original contract and caught 11 passes for 108 yards. After that season, he transferred to Ole Miss, where he was fired during spring practices. Marshall attended Kilgore Junior College for the 2023 season, where he finished as the top-ranked JUCO player in the 2024 class.
