After spending her first two years of eligibility at North Carolina State, one of the best backstops in the country joins the Cowgirls.
Hasler, an Avon, Connecticut, native, had a respectable rookie season with the Wolfpack before having a breakthrough second season that made her one of the nation’s top catchers. Hasler had a.318 batting average, 12 doubles, 27 home runs, and 50 runs scored in her two years at NC State.
Gajewski declared, “Amanda is an elite athlete.” “In her two years at North Carolina State, she has achieved amazing success. She was the best catcher in the portal, and we needed depth at the position since it became so important. It seemed reasonable for us to pursue her, and we think our compatibilities are strong. She seems like the ideal fit for our program and the Cowgirl Way; she is a dedicated student who works hard both in the classroom and on the field.”
The five-foot-five right-handed catcher, who slashed.279/.405/.519 in her freshman season, drove in 28 runs and started 50 games behind the plate in her debut season with the Wolfpack. Throughout the year, she hit four doubles and nine home runs. Hasler also had eight games with multiple hits, which led the team, and she had an 11-game on-base streak at one point in the season.
Hasler elevated her game to a new level in her sophomore season. With a.351 batting average, 52 hits, 45 RBIs, and a.444 on-base percentage, she led the Wolfpack in all 53 games she played at catcher. Hasler hit.770 while slugging eight doubles and eight home runs in the season. Hasler received recognition for her efforts on and off the diamond as a CSC Academic All-District player.
Hasler said, “I picked Oklahoma State for a lot of reasons.” “The environment, the academics, and the coaching staff. I felt like I was part of the OSU family. I am thrilled to be performing for Coach G, who is the greatest in the industry, and I am thrilled to be performing for the greatest supporters in the nation.”
Hasler had a 981 fielding percentage in her two years at NC State. She had 40 assists, 436 putouts, and just nine errors in her career.
Hasler received PGF All-American and his first-ever All-State and All-Conference awards while playing high school ball at Avon High School.
“I think what fans can expect is a kid who’s going to give everything she has every single day,” Gajewski stated. “A child who will work the Cowgirl Way and properly represent Oklahoma State, Oklahoma State Softball, and the state of Oklahoma.” I believe the audience will be ecstatic to see her perform.”
Along with pitcher Ruby Meylan of Washington, Hasler is the second Division I transfer to commit to Oklahoma State for the next campaign.
