Davido affirms that he and Chioma will soon get married.
The pair, who are parents to twins, got married in secret a few months back.
Davido recently verified this development, which was first reported by Stella Dimoko Korkus, a controversial blogger, on her Instagram page.
In a widely shared video on Tuesday, Davido verified the reports. A number of visitors were included in the movie, including Nigerian pastor Tobi Adegboyega, who founded the now-defunct Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, which was originally located in London, England.
Davido is heard saying to one of the guests in the video, “Come to Nigeria for my wedding.”
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Stella Korkus—who is well-known for her insider knowledge of celebrity affairs—said that the much awaited traditional wedding was rapidly approaching.
The blogger claims that the event would take place at the Eko Hotel in Lagos on June 25, 2024.
She emphasized the joy shared by both families and said that the occasion would deepen family bonds and unite the pair in their love.
“The news you have been waiting for is here!!!” was what her post said. In two weeks, singer Davido will marry Chioma, the mother of his twins, in a formal, traditional wedding ceremony at Lagos’ Eko Hotel.
According to Stella Dimoko Korkus sources, both families are excited about the occasion since it will deepen their affection for one another and fortify their bonds as a family.
She said, “According to sources, the traditional wedding will take place on June 25 or 26.”
Stella said that when she asked her sources why they had chosen that particular date, they said it was still unclear what the couple’s plans were.
Fans were thrilled to hear that they were getting married the old-fashioned way.
A tale of love
Davido and Chioma were acquaintances for more than two decades prior to initiating their romantic partnership.
The couple had previously announced their union months before they brought twins into the world in October 2023 in the United States.
After a period of conjecture following the untimely death of their son, Ifeanyi, in October 2022, this confirmation was made.
In an interview with media personality Kie Kie, Davido announced that their court wedding took place in March 2023.
Prior conjectures
Following the death of their son Ifeanyi in 2022, the couple’s marriage first made headlines in December 2023.
According to PREMIUM TIMES, Davido later acknowledged the union in an interview from March 2024, giving an explanation for his choice to wed Chioma following years of rumors.
On November 6, 2022, the pair was introduced in private at Davido’s father’s home. Very few people attended, and cameras were not permitted.
It is also said that Davido fully covered Chioma’s wedding price.
Getting comfortable
In multiple interviews, Davido has discussed his experience traveling with Chioma.
He talked about how he met Chioma before being well-known and wealthy while on The Bridge podcast. He emphasized the value of their early relationship and said it provided a solid basis for their marriage.
Davido talked about how he met his wife Chioma in an interview with French model Cindy Bruna, Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni, and François-Henry Bennahmias, the former CEO of Audemars Piguet, a premium watch company in Switzerland.
Davido claimed that before he met Chioma, he was not well-known or financially secure.
The musician admitted that if he hadn’t met his wife before to becoming famous, he might not have married anyone.
The hitmaker of “Unavailable” remarked, “I have a guy who is quite wealthy but unmarried. Every time I talk to my wife on the phone, he tells me he has everything he needs, but he is missing a wife.”I met my wife before I was wealthy, but I already knew it wouldn’t be the same if I met a girl now that I’m single and hadn’t met her.
