Put an end to it! Steelers supporters have been taunted and harassed by trade speculations that star receiver Brandon Aiyuk of the 49ers would be joining Pittsburgh since the start of the 2024 offseason.
On August 13, it appeared as though an Aiyuk trade would go through if Niners general manager John Lynch was ready to provide the final approval. A week later, it was claimed that the Steelers had completed a deal after scaring Aiyuk away with a lowball salary offer. This, we assumed, sent him back to San Francisco to work out an extension with his present colleagues.
On August 22, a report stating that the 49ers are still interested in trading for Aiyuk came from Michael Silver of the San Frasco Chronicle and Adam Copeland of KNBR.
“My updated information is that everything is still on the table, including all the trades you’ve heard about,” Silver said. “That Steelers scenario… I wouldn’t rule out Washington.”
Fasten your seat belt! The story of the Aiyuk deal hasn’t ended yet.
