The January transfer window is now under four weeks away with plenty of teams plotting their moves ahead of the New Year.

 

Some teams are more settled, the likes of Arsenal, whilst others may look to inject some fresh energy mid-season. Liverpool are being tipped to consider reinforcements, especially in defence after missing out on Marc Guehi in the summer. Ibrahima Konate’s future also remains unclear.

 

 

 

Mohamed Salah’s stock has also fallen – he was on the bench once again on Wednesday night – and there continues to be talk of him leaving Anfield. A number of Saudi Pro League sides have been linked, and only a limited number of clubs are likely to be able to afford last season’s Premier League top scorer

 

Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City are among the clubs tracking Bournemouth ace Antoine Semenyo, who has a £65million release clause that comes live in 2026. He’s been a huge success this term with the Cherries facing a fight to retain him.

 

Manchester United want a new midfielder and some wing-backs, but would prefer to wait until the summer. Should players become available, though, they may decide to act sooner.

Contract extension

LAFC has re-signed goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to a one-year contract with an option for a further year until 2027.

Saudi Arabia will fund a move for Mohamed Salah if he is open to Liverpool exit, report the Telegraph.

 

With the initial wave of superstars nearing the end of their contracts, there could be renewed investment to lift the competition it is said. Funding is said to be available for players who fit the image of the Saudi Pro League.

 

Zongo chase

Manchester United and set to battle Chelsea with both clubs reportedly tracking teenage midfielder Mohamed Zongo.

 

According to Caught Offside, the Blues are well-placed in the race, despite early activity from United, Villarreal and Anderlecht. Zongo impressed at the recent Under-17 World Cup, scoring twice as Burkina Faso reached the quarter-finals.

Newcastle are considering a move for Palmeiras star Allan Elias, who has a £87.5m release clause. The Magpies have intensified their interest and are keen on a ‘immediate’ deal, according to reports in Brazil.

Arsenal confirm double deal

The teenagers will move to North London from Independiente del Valle in 2027.
