Anthony Johnson, a cornerback for Green Bay, is released from the practice squad.
The practice squad of the Green Bay Packers was expanded to include tight end Joel Wilson, while the practice squad was reduced to include cornerback Anthony Johnson. Tuesday was the day when General Manager Brian Gutekunst made the announcement regarding the deals.
Wilson (6-4, 242), a rookie who hails from Central Michigan, was first signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in May. For the first nine weeks of the season, he was a member of the Bills’ practice squad. When he was in college, he participated in 34 games and started 23 of them. He had 82 receptions, 874 yards, and 12 touchdowns, for an average of 10.7 yards per reception. In 2022, Wilson was second on the team with receptions (44) and receiving yards (445), while also leading CMU in touchdown receptions (six) and receiving yards per game (49.4 average). He also led the team in receiving yards. In the year 2022, Phil Steele’s College Football decided to place him on the third team of All-Mid-American Conference players. Wilson is going to adorn the Packers with the number 82.
