An arrest warrant has been issued for former Ohio State football star and NFL player Darron Lee after he missed a scheduled court date in relation to his domestic violence and assault charges dating to this past April, according to reports.

Court records revealed that Lee failed to appear in the Franklin Co. (Ohio) court on Monday to attend the hearing for the charges. Lee was initially arrested in Ohio last April and accused of beating his mother and the mother of his son.

A female relative accused Lee of punching her in the head several times during an argument, according to the allegations in the report.

The concerned relative reported to police that after she told him to go, Lee got angry and yelled at her. He then grabbed her shirt and pushed her against a wall.

The woman was then thrown to the ground and hit in the head several times, according to the allegation as reported.

According to a signed police affidavit, “Mr. Lee then began to strike her head with his fists making contact with her face and back of her head.”

“[The relative] stated that he struck her in the head area approximately eight or nine times with a closed fist,” it continued.

That was the second time that Lee has been the subject of a domestic violence case. He was also accused of assaulting the mother of his child in October, per reports.

Lee began his college football career at Ohio State in 2013, playing at the linebacker position until the 2015 season.

He was a first-round NFL Draft selection in 2016 by the New York Jets.

Two years later, Lee failed a PED test and was suspended by the NFL.

The next year, he was traded by the Jets to the Kansas City Chiefs, and he was suspended again in 2020 for reasons that were not made public.
