With a 4-12 record so far this season, the New England Patriots are presently fourth in the AFC East division. In their past four games, the Patriots team has won two.
The Patriots lost to the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs but won over the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers. The team that fell short against the Bills, though, has locked up the bottom spot in the division.
Pro Football Talk reports that the Patriots have won the division’s final spot, marking the first time under head coach Brian Belichick that this has occurred since 2000. The Patriots play the New York Jets next, and even if they win, they’ll still finish last in the division.
Thirteen AFC Championship games, six Super Bowls, and six titles were all won by the New England Patriots. The question for Belichick as the Patriots season comes to an end will be whether or not he plans to be with the team going forward.
