Noah Rogers, a wide receiver for Ohio State, will use the transfer portal.
Despite not playing this season, Rogers was anticipated to play a significant role in the team’s future.
Ryan Day, the head coach at Ohio State, keeps losing.
Another offensive player for the Ohio State Buckeyes has made an entry into the transfer portal, only days after their 14-3 Cotton Bowl loss to the Missouri Tigers.
Although Rogers did not play for the Buckeyes this season, it was likely that he would play a role in the following campaign given the probable NFL departures of fellow wideouts Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka.
As the 57th-ranked athlete in the class in 2022, Rogers made his initial commitment to Ohio State. The natives of North Carolina chose the Buckeyes over North Carolina State, Alabama, Clemson, and North Carolina.
It’s thought that NC State and North Carolina will both be keen to try to get Rogers back home.
Since Day wouldn’t guarantee him a starting position the following season, Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord also used the transfer portal earlier in the offseason. McCord went to Syracuse after that.
The Buckeyes will, as usual, have plenty of alternatives at receiver, even though Rogers would have probably been considered for next year’s plans. The top overall recruit for 2024, wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, committed to the Buckeyes and this week signed his letter of intent.
