Grate Deal: Everton on a short-term contract with the most spectacular former West…
Jesse Lingard is being pursued by Everton on a short-term contract.
According to talkSPORT, Everton is thinking of making Jesse Lingard an offer for a short-term contract that would last until the end of the 2023–2024 campaign.
The news agency reports that the Toffees are thinking of giving the offensive midfielder a “lifeline” to return to the Premier League in a post on their official Twitter account on January 2.
After his contract with Nottingham Forest expired in the summer, Lingard was left without a club; negotiations to sign with West Ham and the Saudi team Al-Ittifaq broke down shortly after.
They reported, “Everton are thinking of giving Jesse Lingard a Premier League lifeline.”
“TalkSPORT sources understand that the relegation-threatened Toffees could extend an offer to Lingard for a short-term contract until the end of the season.”
Whoa!
That would definitely surprise Jesse Lingard as well as Sean Dyche and Everton.
When Lingard was a free agent after leaving Manchester United, the Toffees were rumoured to be interested in signing him. However, he decided to sign a short-term, high-paying contract with Nottingham Forest instead.
Despite his notoriety in the game, he was unable to find a club after leaving in the summer because things didn’t work out for him there.
With 182 Premier League games played and 29 goals scored in his career, Lingard’s Premier League expertise would be a wonderful asset to Dyche’s side.
But with the abundance of choices available to him at his position, it would probably be difficult for him to obtain consistent playing time. It will be intriguing to watch, especially in light of rumours that Arnaut Danjuma may depart; this may be the interim manager.
