The ATP Race to Turin is heating up as players compete to secure their spots in the year-end ATP Finals. In the latest update, rising stars Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz continue to hold their positions at the top of the leaderboard, while Novak Djokovic has risen to sixth place.
Sinner, the 20-year-old Italian, has had an impressive season so far, reaching the quarterfinals at the Australian Open and last week’s Miami Open. He currently leads the ATP Race with 1,230 points, thanks to his success in ATP 250 and ATP 500 events. Sinner’s breakthrough season in 2020 saw him win his first ATP title at the Sofia Open and reach the quarterfinals of the French Open, and he looks set to continue his rise up the rankings in 2021.
Meanwhile, Djokovic has risen to sixth place in the ATP Race with 855 points. The world number one had a slow start to the season, losing in the Australian Open quarterfinals and withdrawing from the Miami Open due to injury. But he bounced back with a win at the Serbia Open last week, his first tournament since the Australian Open. Djokovic has won the year-end ATP Finals five times in his career and will be aiming to qualify for the event once again this year.
Other players in the top 10 of the ATP Race include Andrey Rublev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Diego Schwartzman, Matteo Berrettini, and Roberto Bautista Agut. The ATP Finals will be held in Turin, Italy, from November 14-21, with the top eight players of the season competing for the prestigious title.
