Caitlin Clark, a talented rookie for the Indiana Fever, responded to online critics who have disparaged other WNBA players by using her name in talks. She stated that any remarks that are misogynistic or racist are “not acceptable.”

“Those who use my name to further their goals should not be doing so. It’s depressing. When questioned about the remarks on Thursday, Clark responded, “It’s not acceptable.” “… Treating every single woman in this league with the same amount of respect, I think, it’s just a basic human thing that everybody should do.”

Due to her notoriety and the fact that she is a white basketball player, Clark has been included in internet discussions and culture wars. These have included the reasons behind her exclusion from the Team USA Olympic basketball squad and reactions to some harsh fouls called on the rookie during her early WNBA career.

To be honest, I don’t see a lot of that kind of thing, so I don’t think about it too much or take too much time to consider it,” Clark remarked. “I work in basketball. I refuse to waste time worrying about anything external because I have no influence over it.”

The Connecticut Sun Guard’s DiJonai Carrington criticised Clark for both the quote and her earlier remarks about avoiding social media, saying on social media that Clark need to do more to stop others from misusing her name.Everyone can see the [s—]. During the Sun’s victory over the Fever on Monday, Carrington and Clark had a noteworthy exchange in which Carrington seemed to make fun of Clark’s response to getting fouled excessively. At least one social media post claimed that Carrington would have expelled the user for her behaviour if she had been white. Carrington rejected this claim.
