Several players gave outstanding performances for the Lions in their victory on Saturday. Amon-Ra St. Brown, a wide receiver, had an incredible performance that included seven receptions for 112 yards and a touchdown. He vaulted over a defender into the end zone on his touchdown catch.Jahmyr Gibbs, the running back, also finished with 100 yards on the ground and two touchdowns—one from rushing and one from reception.Ifeatu Melifonwu, the defensive back, greatly influenced the defense’s dynamic.With a perfectly timed blitz, Melifonwu forced a fumble, sacking Russell Wilson and jarring the ball free. In the end, he would record eight tackles, two passes defensed, a forced fumble, and a sack.
Despite missing out on most of the season due to injuries, the Syracuse product has made the most of his two starts. Against Chicago, he also had a tackle for loss that resulted in a downs turnover.
Quarterback Jarred Goff turned in yet another outstanding performance. The seasoned quarterback tied his career high with five touchdown passes.Tight end Sam LaPorta caught three of those touchdown passes, and with his ninth touchdown, he broke the franchise record for most touchdowns received by a rookie in a single season.The secondary saw some adjustments on the Lions’ defensive end.
