Daniel Jones Rumor Revealed by Rich Eisen Is Startling

Most believed the New York Giants were prepared to let go of Daniel Jones when they declined his fifth-year option.

Then, under Brian Daboll’s leadership, he enjoyed a respectable year before they abruptly changed course.

They gave him a lucrative contract and applied the franchise tag to Saquon Barkley, which at times sparked controversy and even jeers.

Jones struggled immensely when healthy and missed a lot of time due to injuries last season, unable to measure up to the high expectations placed on him.

Now that he has sustained repeated neck injuries and shows no signs of recovery, it appears as though the Giants may be done with him.

The Giants are done with Jones, according to Rich Eisen and hearsay from what he heard at the Combine (via WBG84).

Daniel Jones is officially out of the Giants’ system. I heard “buyers regret” mentioned several times at the combine.

Jones may not be with the Giants next season, but it’s likely that he will be on the roster when the next season begins.

They might try to trade up to the top 3 and get Drake Maye out of UNC with their current No. 6 pick.

They could also target J.J. McCarthy with that choice, who is supposedly climbing on most draft boards, or, if they are certain he will slide, use it to trade down and acquire him later in the first round.

Although they might want to go with a younger player, Russell Wilson and Ryan Tannehill will also be available. Justin Fields, who is allegedly unimpressed with the Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers, may be a possibility for them.
